The amount of Elestrin your doctor prescribes for you is flexible and can help you avoid the need for a new prescription if your dose is adjusted.
Your doctor will start you off using the one-pump or the two-pump dose. Your doctor may then adjust your dose, depending on your progress. Each prescription will provide 50-100 doses of Elestrin, depending on whether your doctor prescribes 1- or 2-pump dose for you. At the 1-pump dose, you may need as few as 4 co-payments per year. At the 2-pump dose, you may have up to 8.
Of course, only your doctor can determine the dose of Elestrin that is right for you.
Regardless of which dose your doctor starts you on, if your doctor adjusts your dose, you simply increase or decrease the number of pumps you use with each application, rather than going to buy a new prescription.
