understanding-menopause

Every woman goes through menopause as a normal part of aging. It usually begins to occur between the ages of 45 and 55 as the levels of estrogen in the female body naturally decline with age. This period of time is know as perimenopause.

The term “menopause” refers to the point at which a woman has not had a period for 12 consecutive months. The average age when natural menopause occurs is 51. However, menopause can be triggered as the result of surgery that involves the removal of both ovaries, which are responsible for producing the estrogen hormone.

The majority of menopausal women experience hot flashes & night sweats. These symptoms usually begin during perimenopause and continue for some period of time after menopause occurs.

Hot flashes eventually come to a natural end during the post menopausal period, but until they do, many women look for ways to reduce their vasomotor symptoms through estrogen therapy (ET).

Your doctor can advise you best about managing your menopausal symptoms.

Important Safety InformationElestrin is indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause.

Estrogens, with or without progestins, should not be used for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or dementia. Estrogen and progestin therapy has shown an increased risk of breast cancer, heart attack, and blood clots. Estrogen therapy, with or without progestins, increases the risk of stroke and dementia. Estrogen therapy alone increases the risk of endometrial cancer. The most frequently reported adverse events in clinical trials were nasopharyngitis, breast tenderness, upper respiratory tract infection, and metrorrhagia.

"I want a product I can apply and forget it."

"I’d rather just rub the product in and forget it’s there."

"For me, it’s easier to get into a daily habit."

"I like the control of applying [it] right on my upper arm."

"Make it clear and easy to apply."
